The Brief
Busy Bee was seeking a proactive marketing partner to lead and execute all aspects of its marketing operations. This included developing results-driven strategies and managing day-to-day marketing activity across the brand. With a focus on fresh thinking and innovation, the goal was set to strengthen audience engagement, expand brand presence, and support long-term growth in an evolving market landscape.
Our Approach
We developed a tailored marketing strategy and lead all ongoing marketing activity, including social media, content creation, design, influencer partnerships, third-party collaborations, and audiovisual production.
As part of this evolution, we reimagined Busy Bee’s brand identity, introducing a more contemporary and cohesive visual direction through refreshed typography, colour palettes, and imagery applied consistently across all touchpoints.
Campaign development plays a central role in our work, with Christmas and Easter forming key moments in Busy Bee’s calendar. For the 2024 Christmas campaign, we launched an all-new creative concept built around the brand’s iconic panettone, incorporating packaging gamification, designated branding, video content, social and in-store campaign rollouts, and influencer activations to position it as a must-have festive gift.
Adding an element of festive magic, the Christmas panettone gift allowed customers to choose a special wish for the year ahead, love, joy, peace, or health, for the recipient. Each wish came to life through a coloured dust sealed inside a bauble, designed to be sprinkled over the panettone in a symbolic moment of celebration.
For Easter, we launched the campaign A Maltese Easter – A Taste of Tradition, focusing on Busy Bee’s deep cultural roots. The campaign celebrated family rituals, generational connections, and timeless moments shared over sweets. Through curated lifestyle and product photography, storytelling and ambassador content, we helped Busy Bee stand out not just as a brand, but as part of Malta’s heritage during this key season.
Anchoring the campaign was the founder of Busy Bee, the eldest of the family, alongside the youngest, his granddaugther, symbolising legacy, continuity, and the generational traditions passed down.
Other campaigns span key seasonal moments and strategic brand campaigns, including Carnival, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, summer events, Halloween, and weddings.
The Impact
We developed campaigns that reached broader and younger audiences, particularly those seeking thoughtful, distinctive gifts. By elevating Busy Bee’s visibility during key holiday seasons, we positioned the brand as a fresh and relevant choice for gifting. This strategic approach strengthened brand presence and delivered measurable results, with both the Christmas and Easter campaigns driving a significant uplift in sales and establishing Busy Bee as the top-of-mind choice for special occasions.
As part of Busy Bee’s continued growth, we also extend the brand into dedicated sub-brands for specific offerings and categories. One notable example is The Rolling Bee – The Busy Bee Bar, a branded food truck serving the brand’s iconic kannoli, sweet treats, and coffee. We developed the name, logo, and full concept, supporting its launch through digital marketing, influencer collaborations, on-site activations, and branded collateral.
We also handle the development and design of Busy Bee’s marketing collateral. One of our most recent projects involved the creation of their catering brochures, where we managed the full process, from image concept and photography direction to design and production, resulting in a visually refined presentation of the brand’s catering offering.
The Impact
Through a combination of strategic planning and creative execution, we’ve helped Busy Bee evolve both visually and as a brand, strengthening its position as a leader in Malta’s catering industry. Our ongoing work continues to shape and refine the brand, ensuring it remains relevant, distinctive, and prepared for the years ahead.
